For the first time we can measure movement — and HERA just climbed 38 ranks.

We have said from the start that rankings can't be recovered retroactively. This week the payoff arrives: with two archived weeks, we can finally measure movement. Between W29 and W30, 16 products climbed, 15 slipped, and 55 entered a chart for the first time. The biggest climber is HERA, up 38 ranks on Olive Young Korea.

Every week we snapshot the rankings of every channel we track and archive them permanently. For one week, that archive could only describe a single moment. This week it can describe a change — the first thing we could never buy after the fact, and the whole reason the record exists.

Between 2026-W29 and W30, 16 products climbed within their channel's ranking, 15 slipped, and 55 entered a chart for the first time. The largest single move belongs to HERA, up 38 ranks on Olive Young Korea, followed by Anua (+31) and Torriden (+27) on the same shelf.

More products arrived than moved

The number worth sitting with isn't the climbers — it's that 55 products entered a chart for the first time, more than three times the number that climbed within one. Part of that is real churn: Olive Young's weekly board turns over constantly. Part of it is an artifact we will name plainly below. Either way, the takeaway holds — in any given week, the bigger story is often what's newly on the board, not what's shuffling inside it.

The falls are as steep as the climbs

On the other side, the steepest drop is Laka, down 76 on Olive Young Global, alongside a cluster of US-side names that fell the same distance. Symmetry like that — many products moving the identical number of ranks — is itself a tell: it usually means a block of the chart reshuffled at once (a promotion cycling off, a restock landing), not 76 independent decisions. We flag it rather than dress it up as momentum.

What one week of movement is, and isn't

This is week one of measurement, so honesty first. A single week of movement is noisy: promotions, restocks and sample-depth differences (our channels run from top-20 to top-195) all move ranks without anyone's habits changing. And the 55 "new entries" are inflated by the baseline — when you compare against a single prior week, anything not seen in that one week looks new. As the archive deepens, both numbers get quieter and more meaningful. What won't change is that we can now watch products travel — up, down, and onto shelves — instead of only photographing where they stand.

Receipt: every number above is checkable against the 2026-W30 archive · method on /methodology. Δ = ranks moved within a channel's weekly sample since 2026-W29. Movement measures shelf position, not units sold. A single week is noisy — promotions, restocks and sample-depth differences (top 20 to top 195) all move ranks. "New entries" are inflated in the first comparison week because the baseline is a single prior week; the figure settles as the archive deepens.
