iHerb is the most Korean shelf in America right now

Ask which American retailer is most K-beauty and the guess is usually Sephora or Amazon. This week, across the US marketplaces we read fresh, it is iHerb — the supplement shop — where nearly one in three skincare best-sellers is Korean.

K-beauty share of the US marketplaces we re-read this week, 2026-W39. iHerb is nearly a third Korean; Amazon and Ulta sit near a fifth.

The retailers people name as the home of K-beauty in America are the beauty specialists — Sephora, Ulta — or the giant, Amazon. This week the densest Korean shelf we read is none of them. It is iHerb.

iHerb is 29% Korean this week

Fact. Of iHerb's skincare best-sellers this week, 29% are Korean brands — led by Heimish (#5) and COSRX (#9). Across the US marketplaces we re-read this week, Amazon is 16% Korean and Ulta 19%. iHerb is the most Korean of the three by a clear margin.

The supplement shop, not the beauty hall

Observation. iHerb is a wellness and supplement marketplace, not a beauty destination. Inference. That is the point: K-beauty's densest US foothold this week is on a health-and-wellness shelf, next to vitamins, not in a prestige beauty hall. It fits a market where "skincare" and "wellness" increasingly sit in the same basket — and it is a shelf most brand strategies overlook.

One shelf we left out on purpose

We compare only the US channels we re-read this week. Sephora and Target are carried from an earlier week, so we exclude them rather than pass old numbers off as this week's. Walmart we also leave out: its list this week came from a changed sort order, so its K-beauty figure is not comparable to its own past weeks, let alone to iHerb's. Better to compare three clean reads than four with one broken axis.

Receipt: every number above is checkable against the 2026-W39 archive · method on /methodology. K-beauty share = the percentage of each channel's skincare best-seller list that is a Korean-origin brand in our master list, 2026-W39, at common depth (100 each). Only US channels re-read this week are shown; Sephora and Target are carried from an earlier week and excluded, and Walmart is excluded because its list came from a changed URL sort (scope_changed_week 2026-W39), which breaks comparison with its own history. Share of the best-seller list, not sales.
