medicube leads America's online shelves. At home in Korea, it barely charts

Every week we read the same set of best-seller charts across the US, Korea, Japan and K-beauty specialist stores. This week one Korean brand turned up on almost all of them.

Everywhere abroad

Fact. medicube has listings on 11 of the 13 charts we read fresh this week: 12 on Amazon's skincare best-sellers, including #1; 6 at Target, best #7; 5 at Ulta, best #13; 3 at Walmart, best #9; 14 on Cult Beauty's K-beauty edit and 9 at YesStyle. On TikTok Shop's skincare list — a sales-estimate ranking, not a store list — it holds 27 of the top 100, including #1. It is not on Sephora's list this week. Observation. No other Korean brand reaches as many of our charts this week.

Thin at home

In Korea the picture flips. medicube has 2 listings on Olive Young Korea's top 100, the best at #65, and none on Coupang's skincare top 100. Inference. medicube's weight on the shelf is built abroad. That is a reminder that "Korea's best-seller" and "K-beauty's best-seller abroad" are different lists — the brands that dominate one can be minor names on the other.
