The brand that owns #1 just landed two more.

This week nine K-beauty products appeared on a retail chart they weren't on seven days ago. Two of them are MEDIHEAL — the same brand our forecast just pinned at number one on both Olive Young charts. A leader that's also filling the seats behind it isn't defending a position. It's widening one.

Last week's story was about a single number: MEDIHEAL holding the top of the Olive Young charts, and our public call that it would keep it. This week the more interesting thing isn't the number one — it's what's happening right behind it.

What just landed

Every week we compare each chart against the week before and flag the products that weren't there last time. For 2026-W34, nine K-beauty products appeared on a live retail chart for the first time — eight different brands, from Olive Young to Cult Beauty to Hwahae. Two of those nine carry the same name: MEDIHEAL. Its Madecassoside Derma Serum entered Olive Young Korea at #8, and its Toner Pads at #10.

A leader that's still expanding

Put that next to what MEDIHEAL already holds and the picture changes. The brand isn't just sitting at number one with its Essential Mask Sheet — as of this week it has five products inside Olive Young Korea's top ten — #1, #4, #5, #8 and #10 — and two of them (#8 and #10) entered the chart just this week. Most brands fight to place a single product on a shelf. A brand that holds five of the top ten, and adds two of them in one week, isn't defending a rank; it's building a wall around it. That's the difference between a hit and a franchise — and it's exactly the kind of move a single ranking, read on its own, never shows you.

What "landed" does and doesn't mean

One honest caveat, because it's the whole reason to trust the rest. A "first appearance" means a product entered a chart's weekly top-ranking sample it was absent from the week before — a shelf-visibility event, not a product's launch date. Some of these products existed for months and only now climbed into view; and because our channels sample to different depths (top 20 on some, nearly top 200 on others), an entry can reflect a deeper look as much as fresh demand. What it reliably tells you is where attention moved this week, measured the same way every week.

Why we watch the arrivals, not just the leaders

The top of a chart is a lagging signal — by the time a product is number one, its rise already happened. The new arrivals are where next quarter's leaders are hiding, and most of them will fade. The point of archiving them every week isn't to crown them; it's so that when one of these #8s becomes a #1 three months from now, we can show you the exact week it first showed up — receipt and all.

Receipt: every number above is checkable against the 2026-W34 archive · method on /methodology. "First appearance" = the product entered a channel's weekly top-ranking sample it was absent from the prior week — a shelf-visibility event, not a product launch date. Sample depth differs by channel (top 20 to nearly top 200), so an entry can reflect a deeper sample as well as new demand. Rankings are chart position, not units sold. MEDIHEAL's #1 standing is on the Olive Young Korea and Global charts; the two new entries (#8, #10) are on Olive Young Korea. Live figures on /movers and the weekly archive are canonical; the numbers here are a 2026-W34 snapshot.
